Zahid Abul-Basher

Zahid Abul-Basher, PhD, is an experienced applied scientist currently serving as a Senior Graph Architect at BASF since September 2022. Previously, Zahid held the position of Graph Database Architect at the University of Toronto from January 2014 to August 2022, where a notable contribution included the design and implementation of optimization techniques for graph databases. Other roles include Data Architect at University Health Network, Data Scientist at START Clinic, and AI Scientist at Huawei Technologies, where a framework called MindMeld was proposed to enhance user interface design through contextual decision-making. Earlier career experience includes serving as a DB2 Software Engineer at IBM and a Software Engineer at King AbdulAziz University. Zahid holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science in Computer Science from York University, and a Bachelor's degree (Hons.) in Computer Science from King AbdulAziz University.
