About the Role
The Charging Network Product Manager will work closely with stakeholders across functions within BasiGo, as well as external stakeholders throughout the industry, to research, develop, and deploy the future of EV charging solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Product Manager will own the charging user experience, manage charging partnerships, define product specifications, and operationalization of digital tools to meet BasiGo’s mission and business objectives. The role requires a versatile, digital product leader with skills that span systems engineering, product marketing, finance, and data analysis. Most importantly, it requires an independent, entrepreneurial thinker who can jump seamlessly between strategy and implementation, who understands the dynamic EV and energy storage value chains, and who knows how African transport and energy markets work in order to build product and business models that can succeed.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a deep understanding of trends and dynamics in electric vehicle charging, energy generation and management, and energy supply value chains.
Research trends in EV adoption and deployment as well as charging customer needs and preferences in order to help BasiGo develop an industry leading EV charging service.
Conduct market and industry research to develop and execute a data-driven pricing and network expansion strategy.
Identify and develop new revenue generation opportunities leveraging the expanding BasiGo charging network and fleet operation.
Negotiate, manage, and expand both existing and new partnerships throughout the EV charging value chain.
Monitor economic and technical performance of the charging network.
Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape and update the position of BasiGo's offering relative to diesel and electric-powered competition in the market.
Facilitate internal buy-in and decision making around charging strategy.
