STATION: BASIGO SERVICE DEPOT

LOCATION: KIGALI

BasiGo is an early stage e-mobility start-up working to create the future of clean, electric, and digitally-powered public transport in sub-Saharan Africa. BasiGo provides bus operators with a cost effective electric alternative to existing diesel buses, along with reliable charging and maintenance services in support of their bus operations. BasiGo Rwanda is looking for an organized and detail-oriented storekeeper to manage all of the operations in our storeroom. In this position, you'll play a key role in the proper care and maintenance of our parts, stock, tools, and equipment; including ordering, receiving, and managing inventory.

Position Summary

  • Receives, stores, and issues materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and parts for Basigo operations

  • Ensures that all precision tools are calibrated

  • Informs Service Lead of low-level stock items to maintain adequate supplies; and performs related work as required.

  • Performs material handling and record keeping duties associated with store keeping.

  • Monitor running stock levels through a computer-based inventory management system to ensure that materials and supplies will be available for all service and maintenance operations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of BasiGo spares, tools and equipment

  • Receives and unpacks materials, supplies, equipment, tools and parts. Verifies articles receive against packing lists, invoices and purchase orders; notes discrepancies, damage and/or defects

  • Requisitions materials and supplies according to established limits; informs Service Lead of problems regarding stock limits and product quality.

  • Consistently and constantly prioritizes assignments to ensure smooth operation of the Depot

  • Stores materials received in bins, on shelves, or in other appropriate locations or arranges for the appropriate delivery of the received materials

  • Issues materials, supplies, and other articles from stock through Computerized Inventory Management System

  • Identifies and inventories long life, major cost items such as special diagnostic equipment, power tools, test equipment and electrical appliances, affixes appropriate asset stickers

  • Takes regular or daily cycle count(s) of the Bus Stores inventory

  • Develops and maintains cooperative, effective, productive and tactful working relationships with Basigo service personnel, engineers and others in the course of the work

  • Follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job

  • Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a college diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or recordkeeping

  • Proper knowledge of advanced excel functions

  • Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environment

  • Analytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time

  • Strong team player who is ready to collaborate and achieve the best result for the team!

  • Able to work flexible hours (including night shift)
