Marcus Bain

Marcus Bain has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Marcus is currently working as the Corporate Development Director at Basilea Pharmaceutica since 2023. Prior to this, Marcus held the role of Senior Manager, Business Development & Licensing at Tillotts Pharma AG from 2017 to 2023. At Tillotts Pharma AG, they played a key role in all aspects of in-licensing, out-licensing, and M&A deals. Before that, Marcus worked as the Product Optimization Manager, Global Product Strategy at Roche from 2015 to 2017. Marcus also worked as the Director at Wescadia Group Pty Ltd from 2011 to 2015 and as the New Product Strategy/Business Development Manager at GlaxoSmithKline from 2009 to 2011. Marcus began their career as an Analyst at Decision Resources from 2006 to 2009.

Marcus Bain earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of South Australia between 2002 and 2006. Marcus also received a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) from the same university between 1993 and 1995. In terms of additional certifications, Marcus completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program offered by the CFA Institute in 2012. Marcus further attended a M&A Simulation program at IMD in 2019 and a Focused Program in Winning Negotiation Strategies at the IESE Business School in 2022.
