Kayla Broom (Smith)

Kayla (Smith) Broom has a diverse background in professional development and career coaching. Their most recent position was as a Professional Development Manager at Bass, Berry & Sims, where they started in 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Professional Development and Career Coach at Coached by Kayla starting in 2019. Kayla (Smith) Broom has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology and Sociology from UC Santa Barbara, with a minor in Education focusing on Applied Psychology. Kayla also holds a Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership and Organizations, also from UC Santa Barbara. Kayla attended the University of Virginia for a Semester at Sea Study Abroad program, where they studied Altruism and Social Justice, Education Around the World, Global Studies, and Oceanography.

In terms of certifications, Kayla obtained the Higher Education Coaches Special Interest Group certification from the International Coaching Federation in October 2021. Kayla also holds the NACE: Coaching Certification Program from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, which they obtained in June 2020. Additionally, they completed the Summer Institute on Education, Equity, and Justice from American University in June 2020, and the Career HackingTM: Resume, LinkedIn, Interviewing +More course from Udemy in April 2020.

Kayla has also acquired the Athlete Development Professional Certification from The Wharton School, although no date of completion is provided. Kayla has also obtained the Gaucho U certification from UC Santa Barbara, for which no date is specified either.
