Shawn Smith

Shawn Smith is an experienced educator and instructional leader with a diverse background in curriculum development and teacher coaching. Currently serving as a Data Fellow in Curriculum and Instruction and Instructional Coach at Bastrop Independent School District since July 2020, Shawn focuses on adult learning and improving instructional strategies for teachers. Past roles include Mathematics Teacher at Pearland Independent School District, where involvement in the Aspiring Administrator’s Academy and the TEA 8th Grade Math STAAR Item Review Committee enhanced professional networking and collaboration. Additional experience includes teaching positions in Killeen ISD, Belton ISD, and roles as Secondary Principal and Director of Operations at Central Texas Christian School, demonstrating a commitment to curriculum alignment, instructional effectiveness, and the integration of technology in education. Shawn holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision from Tarleton State University and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
