Matthijs Baart

Matthijs Baart is an accomplished virologist and EHS manager at Batavia Biosciences since May 2016, overseeing safety protocols including bio safety, chemical safety, and emergency response services while developing training programs to enhance safety awareness. Previous roles include Chemical Safety Officer and BioRisk Officer, responsible for implementing biosafety policies and conducting risk assessments. Matthijs has also managed campaign teams for the VVD political party and worked in research roles at Mymetics Corporation and Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies, focusing on vaccine development. Matthijs holds a Master's degree in Cardiovascular Research from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Bachelor's degree from Hogeschool Leiden.
