George H. Scheetz

George H. Scheetz is an experienced library professional with a distinguished career spanning several decades. Currently serving as Executive Director Emeritus at Batavia Public Library since December 2004, George oversees a library with a nearly $4.0 million budget and a service population of over 26,500. Prior roles include Chief Information Officer for Roger Ebert's Overlooked Film Festival, where George produced film synopses and guest biographies, and consultant/director of the Virtual Library at The Library Channel LLC, managing the development of a librarian-selected search engine. Additionally, George has held directorial positions at Champaign Public Library and Sioux City Public Library, successfully managing significant budgets and serving large populations. George holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor of Arts in English, both from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
