Frank Lau is an Associate Director at Bates Smart. Frank has over 20 years of experience in the architecture industry, working their way up from Graduate Architect to their current role.

Frank started their career at Wood Marsh Architecture in 1997. Frank worked there for 2 years before moving to Peter Brown Architects in 2000. Frank spent 6 years at Peter Brown Architects, before moving back to Bates Smart in 2006. Frank has been with Bates Smart for 15 years now, and has held the positions of Project Architect and Project Leader. In April 2014, they were promoted to Associate Director.

Throughout their career, Frank has worked on a variety of projects, both in Australia and overseas. Frank is a highly skilled and experienced architect, who has a passion for creating quality designs that meet the needs of their clients.

Frank Lau studied at the University of Melbourne, where they obtained their Master's degree in Property and Construction Management. Frank also studied at RMIT University, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Architecture (BArch) (Honours). Frank is also a Green Star Accredited Professional from the Green Building Council of Australia.

Frank Lau reports to Philip Vivian, Managing Director. They work with William Miller - Associate Director, Rachael McCarthy - Studio Director, and Cian Davis - Director.
