Idaho National Laboratory
John Jackson is a distinguished staff scientist at Idaho National Laboratory, serving as the National Technical Director for the Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy's Microreactor Program since June 2006. Previously, John held the position of Technical Interface for the Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear initiative. Before joining Idaho National Laboratory, John was a Senior Research Engineer at ExxonMobil from January 2003 to May 2006, where responsibilities included the characterization of down hole materials for sour service and mitigation strategies for drilling mud losses. John earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Central Washington University.
