Michael Shaltry

Michael Shaltry is the Owner and Pilot at M78 Aeronautics, providing unmanned aircraft photography and videography services since August 2022. Concurrently, Michael serves as the Research Laboratory Operations Manager and Research Scientist at Idaho National Laboratory, a position held since February 2014. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Scientist at the University of Idaho - Idaho Falls from May 2011 to December 2013, focusing on chemical and electrochemical separation techniques and wasteform performance testing, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Idaho from May 2008 to January 2012, where research involved ion exchange experimentation in molten salt systems. Earlier in the academic career, Michael worked as an Undergraduate Teaching and Research Assistant at Idaho State University and briefly as a Technician for Science Applications International Corporation, contributing to process engineering and electrical power grid security projects. Michael holds a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Idaho and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Idaho State University.
