Scott Wortman has extensive work experience in communications and public affairs. Scott currently holds the position of Senior Director of Communications at Battelle for Kids. Previously, they served as the Chief Communications and Engagement Officer at Columbus City Schools in Ohio, where they led a high-performing department responsible for internal and external communications, media relations, and marketing. Prior to that, Scott worked as the Supervisor of Communications at the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District. Scott also has experience in graphic design, having worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer at ZW Design LLC. Scott has a background in athletic communications and PR, serving as the Director of Athletic Communications at Wake Forest University and as a Graduate Assistant Sports Information Director at Ohio Northern University. Scott began their career as a Media Relations & Marketing Intern at both the Charlotte Knights and South Bend Silver Hawks.
Scott Wortman received their Bachelor's Degree in English - Professional Writing (with a minor in Business) from Ohio Northern University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master's Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University, completing the program between 2004 and 2006. In addition to their formal education, Scott also holds two Inbound Certifications from HubSpot, obtained in May 2015 and June 2016.
