Drake Goolsby

Drake Goolsby has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Drake currently holds the position of Vice President Commercial Strategy and Business Development at Battelle since November 2022. In this role, they lead the development of commercialization pathways for Battelle's technology and intellectual property. Drake also oversees due diligence and negotiations for M&A transactions. Prior to joining Battelle, Goolsby served as the Director of Intellectual Property Commercialization at Battelle from September 2018 to November 2022. In this position, they focused on developing high-value commercialization pathways and led due diligence and negotiations for IP licensing and joint ventures. Before their tenure at Battelle, Goolsby worked as the Director of Operational Transformation at Texas Health Resources from September 2015 to September 2018. Drake also held the role of Sourcing Executive at Novation from January 2014 to September 2015. Goolsby started their career at PepsiCo - Frito Lay, where they held two positions: Industry Manager - Contract Manufacturing from April 2009 to January 2014 and Engineering Project Manager from May 2007 to April 2009. Prior to PepsiCo, Goolsby worked as a Project Engineer at Jacobs from June 2005 to May 2007 and as a Mechanical/Stress Engineer at Piping Analysis Incorporated from May 2004 to June 2005. Goolsby began their professional career as a Research Fellow at Louisiana Tech University from November 2003 to May 2004. During this time, they were part of an Innovative Venture Research Team that assessed the potential of transforming specific technologies into revenue-generating ventures.

Drake Goolsby has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. Drake later pursued an MBA at Louisiana Tech University from 2003 to 2004. In 2013, Drake attended Trinity University, where they completed their MHA degree in Healthcare Administration from 2013 to 2015. Furthermore, they also participated in an Executive Program at Stanford University.
