The Superintendent’s focus is to plan and supervise a wide range of all on-site construction projects from conception through the pre-construction, construction, and project close out phases. This role will focus on strong communication skills, excellent work ethic, and completion of projects within budget guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day construction operations, jobsite oversight, quality control, daily reports, RFI’s, SWPP inspections, procurement of materials and blueprint reading.
  • Ensure a safe worksite by enforcing and promoting BDB’s safety protocol which will include conducting daily safety inspections, attending Foreman’s meetings/Toolbox tasks, maintaining appropriate on-site documentation, and updating JHA information as needed.
  • Develop accurate project schedule information and specification requirements with subcontractors and suppliers across all trades.
  • Work with Project Management Staff to develop viable build process for each project.
  • Review subcontractor estimates to ensure scope is complete and reduce scope gaps.
  • Support field staff through punch list, MEP equipment training, and turnover.
  • Participate and attend SOP meetings to ensure proper handoff of projects and provide recommendations to improve the process.
  • Responsible for both written and verbal communication of any issues associated with the project to appropriate parties such as trade partners, city officials, internal personnel, and client(s).
  • Ensure scheduling, attendance, and documentation of 10-month warrantee walk throughs.

Experience and Skills:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Construction Superintendent
  • Proven track record of interacting positively with individuals/clients related to their project needs and keeping them updated on any issues or challenges.
  • Ability to schedule and coordinate subcontractors to meet project requirements.
  • Goal-oriented, with the ability to react quickly to challenging circumstances to achieve desired results while many times “working in the grey.”
  • Ability to implement duties with an exceptional level of accuracy and timeliness while meeting established deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of all construction methodologies, building codes, and procedures
  • Strong experience working and interacting with individuals including clients, architects, local authorities, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to handle conflict in a firm but fair manner.
  • Ability to be a leader and mentor to the BDB team in understanding of all areas of the construction process.
  • Comfortability leading the Trade group, Project Managers and Project Engineers so they are prepared when in the field.
  • Must be able to travel to the job site assigned.

  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as per safety guidelines.
