Dr. Christina Schmalzl

Dr. Christina Schmalzl has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Dr. Christina is currently employed at Bavarian Nordic as the Global Medical Information Lead since March 2023. Prior to this role, they served as a Medical Science Liaison from March 2021 to February 2023, and as a Sales Manager from August 2020 to February 2021.

Before joining Bavarian Nordic, Dr. Schmalzl worked as a Doktorandin (Doctoral Candidate) at Universität Regensburg from August 2016 to April 2020. Dr. Christina also gained experience as a Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft (Research Assistant) at the same university from November 2013 to January 2014, and as a Tutor in May to July 2012.

Dr. Christina Schmalzl completed their education with a strong focus on biology. Dr. Christina earned their Abitur, or high school diploma, from Veit-Höser-Gymnasium Bogen in 2010. Afterwards, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in general biology from the University of Regensburg, which they completed in 2013. Dr. Schmalzl then continued their studies at the University of Regensburg and obtained a Master of Science degree in general biology in 2016.
