LJ Chen has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. They started their career as a Process Development Intern at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. in 2012 and later worked as a Manufacturing Associate at the same company from 2016 to 2018. LJ then joined UC Irvine as an Undergraduate Researcher from 2012 to 2014. They continued their academic and research pursuits by working as a Research Intern at Universitätsklinikum Leipzig Medizinische Berufsfachschule Leipzig for a brief period in 2019. LJ further expanded their knowledge and skills by serving as a Student Research Assistant at EpiQMAx in 2020 and as an Antibody Development Intern at Roche Diagnostics Europe from April 2020 to September 2020. LJ completed their Master's Thesis at Helmholtz Zentrum München from November 2020 to June 2021. Most recently, LJ worked as a Technical Assistant in DSP Process Development at Freeline from September 2021 to March 2022. They are currently a Research Associate in Vaccine Development at Bavarian Nordic since April 2022.
LJ Chen obtained a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Biomedicine from the Technical University of Munich. This academic pursuit took place from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, LJ Chen completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering at UC Irvine, a program they were enrolled in from 2009 to 2014.
Furthermore, LJ Chen holds a certification known as the Goethe-Zertifikat B2, which was obtained from the Goethe-Institut e.V. in September 2021.
