Omar Shaikhly

Omar Shaikhly is a finance professional with extensive experience in specialty finance and venture debt. At BAWAG Group since August 2021, Omar has been involved in various aspects of the finance sector. Prior experience at HSBC included being the group's first hire in venture debt, where a business development strategy targeting growth-stage technology companies was developed, and responsibilities included deal sourcing, underwriting, execution, and portfolio management. Additionally, Omar served as a Senior Credit Analyst, managing a portfolio of over 30 borrowers with debt exposures ranging from $20 million to $100 million. A graduate of George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Environmental Sustainability, Omar also completed the Graduate Management Programme at HSBC and held positions at UBS and GE Healthcare. Omar's educational foundation includes an International Baccalaureate from Universal American School in Dubai.
