Ramakrishna Nemani

Ramakrishna (Rama) Nemani has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of environmental research and science. Ramakrishna (Rama) is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Bay Area Environmental Research Institute since August 2022. Prior to this, they founded Niruthi Climate & Ecosystems in March 2011. Rama also has a significant experience working at NASA Ames Research Center as a Senior Earth Scientist from September 2003 to December 2021. Ramakrishna (Rama) has also served as an Assistant/Associate Research Professor at the University of Montana from June 1991 to September 2003 and as a Post-doctoral fellow at the University of Toronto from November 1989 to June 1991.

Ramakrishna (Rama) Nemani earned their Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, General from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University in 1979. Ramakrishna (Rama) then pursued their Master of Science (MS) in Agricultural Meteorology from Punjab Agricultural University from 1980 to 1982. Continuing their education, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Remote Sensing/Ecosystem modeling from the University of Montana from 1983 to 1987.
