Sharon Ryan is president and publisher of Bay Area News Group. Ms. Ryan has a broad and in-depth knowledge of the media industry that comes from her experience working at a large metro for Tribune Company (Chicago Tribune), in a small market with Knight Ridder (San Luis Obispo, CA) and then a large cluster (Bay Area News Group). Sharon also spent time at the St. Paul Pioneer Press and served as CFO of the California Newspapers Partnership.
Ms. Ryan holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
While her understanding of what came before is important, more significant now is her determination and commitment to helping chart the California region’s path forward.
