Michael Ellis

Columnist- Ask The Naturalist at Bay Nature Institute

Michael Ellis holds extensive experience in environmental education and public commentary. As a Board Member of Sonoma Land Paths since July 2012, Michael contributes to the Board Development Committee. Michael has been a columnist for the "Ask the Naturalist" section of the Bay Nature Institute since its inception in January 2001 and serves as a regular commentator for KQED's Perspective Series since 1988. As the Owner/Operator of Footloose Forays since January 1983, Michael plans and leads worldwide excursions. Previous experience includes serving as Executive Director at Slide Ranch from October 1977 to January 1982, where Michael facilitated experiences for inner-city youth on an organic farm. Michael holds an MS in Marine Biology Education from San Francisco State University and a BS in Botany from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
