Kat Macmillan serves as a Councillor for the Bay of Plenty Regional Council since October 2022, following extensive experience in leadership and training roles. Previously, Kat worked as a Trainer for Dale Carnegie Training from January 2018 to October 2022 and facilitated training and consulting for Exult from February 2018 to March 2019. Kat managed Heart Health Advocates for the Heart Foundation NZ from April 2016 to February 2018 and held the position of Midland Regional Manager at the National Heart Foundation of New Zealand from October 2014 to April 2016. Additionally, Kat was the Chief Executive Officer at Tauranga Riding for the Disabled from July 2008 to October 2014 and served as a Nutrition Advisor for the National Heart Foundation of NZ from April 2006 to June 2008. Early career experience includes roles at East Sussex County Council, Viva!, and the International League for Protection of Horses. Kat holds a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Liverpool and a Food and Nutrition Certificate from The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand, alongside ongoing studies in Te Reo Maori and certifications from Dale Carnegie Training.
