Matt Schemmel

Matt Schemmel has worked in the environmental services field since 1996. Matt began their career at DPRA as a Project Manager/Geologist, where they managed remedial investigation projects, including tank removal oversight, subcontractor bidding and coordination, groundwater and soil sampling, data review, report preparation, system installation and design, and client and regulatory contact. Matt prepared remedial investigation reports for numerous state programs documenting soil and groundwater conditions at over 150 sites.

In 2007, Matt joined Bay West LLC as Director of Commercial Consulting. Matt then moved into the role of Environmental Services Group Manager, where they were responsible for personnel management, technical leadership and business development. As a group manager, they managed the performance of individual careers and other team leaders, provided a communication avenue for gathering ideas, made staffing decisions, and managed direct reports. Matt also provided expertise for successful projects, trained and taught technical skills to others, and prevented risks. Additionally, they served as a Project Manager/Hydrogeologist.

Matt Schemmel obtained a BS in Hydro/Environmental Geology from the University of Minnesota Duluth between 1993 and 1997. In 2002, they obtained their Professional Geologist certification from the National Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG). In 2019, they completed The Leadership and Management Program at the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business.
