Villy Wang

Founder & CEO at BAYCAT

Villy Wang has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Villy started their career as a Commercial and Investment Banker, which provided their with valuable financial management skills. After practicing law as an attorney, they discovered their passion for nonprofit work and began incubating the idea for their own nonprofit organization. Villy then became the Business and Operations Director for SFJAZZ, where they developed a jazz education program and created additional revenue streams. Villy later worked as a teacher in the San Francisco Unified School District, which helped shape the educational aspect of their nonprofit. In 2001, Villy founded BAYCAT, where they currently serve as the Founder, President, and CEO. In addition to their work with BAYCAT, they also took on leadership roles at the San Francisco Film Commission, where they promote film and media production activities in the city. Villy's experiences in various fields have greatly contributed to their ability to combine creativity, business, and education at BAYCAT.

Villy Wang has a BA in Engineering and Economics from Brown University. Villy also earned a JD from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. In addition, they hold a Teaching Credential in Education from San Francisco State University.
