Kimberley Parsons Trommler

Kimberley Parsons Trommler has over 20 years of work experience in various technology-related roles. Kimberley currently works as the Head of Thinknet 6G at Bayern Innovativ GmbH, where they lead a network community for 6G stakeholders. Prior to this, Kimberley held roles such as Group Management Technology at Bayern Innovativ, where they managed automotive and digitalization projects, organized conferences, and scouted for new technologies and startups. Kimberley also represented Bayern Innovativ in international delegations and contributed articles to publications.

Before joining Bayern Innovativ, Kimberley worked at Paessler AG as a Senior Technical Evangelist for PRTG Network Monitor. In this role, they represented the company in technical communities, spoke at conferences and universities, and created content for publications and blogs. Kimberley also worked as a Senior Systems Engineer, Pre-Sales Consulting, Certification, and Training at Paessler AG.

Earlier in their career, Kimberley worked at BMW AG as a Network Architect, where they were responsible for network architecture and standardization across BMW locations worldwide. Kimberley also managed IT projects, handled IPv6 and IP address management, and organized the company's network community events. Prior to BMW, they worked at OpenText and Loran International Technologies in network architect and customer engineering roles respectively.

Kimberley Parsons Trommler has an extensive education history. Kimberley obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics degree with a major in Honours Computer Science and a minor in Statistics through the Co-operative Program at the University of Waterloo. Kimberley completed this degree from 1989 to 1994. Additionally, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Arts with a minor in German from the same university, starting in 1989 and finishing in 1995.

In 1994, Kimberley participated in an exchange program as an Informatik student at the University of Mannheim. Kimberley also pursued a Master of Mathematics degree in Computer Science with a specialization in AI - Computational Linguistics at the University of Waterloo, completing it from 1994 to 1997.

Furthermore, Kimberley continues to engage in ongoing education and professional development as indicated by their participation in various certifications. Kimberley acquired the "CCNA Routing and Switching" certification from Cisco in April 2016, and the "Paessler Certified Monitoring Expert 2015, 2016, 2017" and "Paessler Certified Sales Professional 2015, 2016, 2017" certifications from Paessler AG in March 2015. Recently, in January 2023, they obtained the "Deploy 5G Services with Azure" certification from the Microsoft Learning Path. Additionally, they hold an ITIL Foundation certification, but the specifics of when they obtained it are not available.
