Suchi Saria

CEO & Founder, Chief Scientific Officer at Bayesian Health

Suchi Saria has a diverse work experience in the fields of healthcare, artificial intelligence, and academia. Suchi began their career as a Research Intern at Microsoft Research in 2008. Suchi then pursued their Ph.D. at Stanford University, focusing on machine learning for time series and health informatics applications. After completing their Ph.D., they joined The Johns Hopkins University where they held multiple roles, including Founding Director of Research and Technical Strategy at the Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare, Director of the Machine Learning, AI & Healthcare Lab, and John C. Malone Endowed Chair and Associate Professor. During their time at The Johns Hopkins University, Suchi was also selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and as an NAM Emerging Leader In Health and Medicine by the National Academy of Medicine. Suchi co-founded Bayesian Health in 2018 and served as the CEO, Founder, and Chief Scientific Officer. Bayesian Health is an AI-based healthcare company that aims to empower clinicians with real-time data. Suchi also served as an Advisory Board member for Innovative Groups Leading Transformation with Data and ML and as an Investment Partner at AIX Ventures. In 2022, they co-founded the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) and joined as a Steering Committee Member. Additionally, they have acted as a Technical Advisor and Seed Investor for PatientPing.

Suchi Saria obtained a PhD in AI, Computer Science, Statistics, and Clinical Applications from Stanford University in 2011. Suchi also received an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2008. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Computer Science from Mount Holyoke College between 2000 and 2004. Before entering college, Suchi studied Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Computer Science at Delhi Public School - R. K. Puram from 1998 to 2001. Suchi also attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2002 to 2004 to study Computer Science. In 2011 and 2012, Suchi was a NSF Computing Innovation Fellow at both Harvard Medical School and Harvard University.
