Dane Friend

Dane Friend is the current Chief Human Resources Officer at Baylor College of Medicine. Dane has held this position since December 2010. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Director of Human Resources and Associate General Counsel at Baylor College of Medicine from January 1999 to December 2010. Dane also worked as an extern at The Methodist Hospital System from January 1997 to December 1997 and as an attorney/consultant at Fort Bend ISD from January 1997 to December 1999. Dane Friend served in the US Navy Reserve from January 1989 to December 1995 as a Hospital Corpsman.

Dane Friend received their Doctor of Law (J.D.) from South Texas College of Law Houston and their Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Political Science from Houston Baptist University. Dane is certified by SHRM in SHRM-SCP and by HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in SPHR.

Their manager is Paul Klotman, President, CEO & Executive Dean. They are on a team with Carolyn L Smith - Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Kimberly C. David - SVP & Chief Business Officer, and Joe Petrosino - Chief Scientific Innovation Officer.
