Danijela Horak

Danijela Horak is a highly experienced leader in AI and machine learning, currently serving as Head of AI Research and Head of Machine Learning at the BBC since July 2022. In this role, Danijela manages a team focused on innovative solutions in computer vision, natural language processing, speech-to-text, and recommender systems. Prior to the BBC, Danijela contributed as a Director of Machine Learning at AIG, leading a global team to deliver advanced AI solutions for commercial real estate and overseeing model governance. Additional roles include serving on the Advisory Group for Science and Innovation at The Alan Turing Institute and various research positions in academia and industry, including lead mathematician at Penteract28 Ltd and research associate at Imperial College London. Danijela holds a PhD in Mathematics from the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences and a Master's degree from the University of Belgrade.
