Graham Thomas is a seasoned professional in the field of applied research and content production, currently serving as the Head of Applied Research at BBC R&D since February 2006. In this role, Graham leads efforts in developing innovative technologies for content production, previously holding positions as Section Lead for Immersive and Interactive Content and Principal Research Engineer, where significant contributions were made in real-time image processing and 2D/3D image processing techniques. Additionally, Graham has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey's Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences since August 2011, maintaining close ties with the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing and the Institute of Sound Recording. Graham holds an MA in Physics from the University of Oxford, earned between 1980 and 1983, and completed education at Richard Hale School from 1973 to 1980.
