Hugo Vega de la Cruz is an accomplished economist and educator with extensive experience in both academic and research settings. Since November 2018, Hugo has served as a Senior Economist at BBVA Research, concurrently holding teaching positions at various institutions including the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, and previously at Universidad de Piura and Universidad de San Martin de Porres. Hugo's background includes a significant role as Head of the Monetary Program Department at Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, focusing on monetary policy analysis and macroprudential research. Hugo holds a PhD in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola.
