Melissa Yan

Melissa Yan is an experienced Health Promotion Specialist currently employed at BC Cancer since February 2023. Previously, Melissa held various roles at the University Health Network from January 2017 to February 2023, including Coordinator for Patient Learning and Development and Coordinator for Patient and Family Education, where responsibilities included program development, patient education, and training healthcare providers. Prior experience includes a Research Assistant position at McMaster University, where Melissa contributed to research on historical pandemics, and a Consultant role at the BC Centre for Disease Control, focusing on hepatitis education. Melissa holds a Master of Public Health from The University of British Columbia and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology from McMaster University.
