Ryan Phillips has a comprehensive background in professional football coaching and player development, currently serving as the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the BC Lions Football Club since December 2018. Previous positions at the organization include Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach, alongside a role as Regional Scout. Prior to their coaching career, Ryan Phillips was a professional football player with the BC Lions from May 2005 to February 2017. Additionally, Phillips gained experience in sales management at 24 Hour Fitness from January 2018 to June 2019. Ryan Phillips holds a Bachelor's degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies from Eastern Washington University, earned between 2002 and 2005.

The Lions are the oldest and most successful professional sports organization in British Columbia. Over the course of more than six decades, the BC Lions Football Club has entertained millions of fans and created a lifetime of memories for fans across the province. Since the club’s early beginnings in 1953, generations of Lions fans have witnessed the club’s first touchdown, first win, the construction of BC Place, six amazing Grey Cup wins and come to love hundreds of great players over the years. We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. Through innovative and integrated community programs focused in the areas of education and the development of the game of football, we seek to enhance the lives of youth across the province of British Columbia.
