Julia Bates has extensive work experience, starting in 2010 with the BC Public Service. Julia held various roles, including Director of Priorities and Planning, Director of Business Transformation, Manager of Cannabis Licensing, Manager of Operations, Senior Policy Advisor for the Provincial Blue Box Recycling Program, and Issues Manager in the Deputy Ministers Office. In 2023, they joined the BC Energy Regulator as the Executive Director of Strategy and Culture.
Julia Bates has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Victoria, which they obtained from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Victoria from 2007 to 2009. Julia'seducation journey began at Camosun College, where they earned an Associate of Arts Degree from 2004 to 2007. Julia Bates also holds a certification as a Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner, which they obtained in the year 2023 from Prosci.
