Michelle Atterby

Michelle Atterby serves as a Humane Educator at BC SPCA since July 2022 and holds the position of Executive Director at Kind Hearts Farm Sanctuary since May 2022, focusing on humane education, animal welfare, environmental conservation, and community engagement. Previously, Michelle was the Director of Spirit Gate Wellness Centre from January 2007 to January 2019, where personal and professional development programs were offered with an emphasis on holistic practices and youth mentorship. Additionally, Michelle was the inaugural Chairperson of Power To Be from 2003 to 2007, an organization that promotes adventure-based programs for youth and families. Michelle is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Education and Communication at Royal Roads University, and possesses a background in Philosophy and Psychology from Vancouver Island University. Certifications in equine-facilitated learning further enhance Michelle's expertise in integrated approaches to leadership and education.
