Mumit Khan has extensive work experience in various roles, starting from their early career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Research Engineer and later as the Lead for Modeling and Simulation. Mumit then joined BRAC University, where they held multiple positions, including Professor and Chairperson of Computer Science and Engineering, Director, and Chairperson of IT Committee.
In 2010, they joined Amadeyr Cloud Limited as a Senior Advisor before moving to Abebooks, an Amazon.com company, in 2012, where they worked as a Technology Program Manager, specializing in Security, Payments, and Tax.
Mumit then transitioned to the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Government of British Columbia, as the Director of Strategic Initiatives in 2018, where they played a key role in enabling public cloud for the province and developing the hosting strategy.
Currently, Mumit Khan serves as the Director of Enterprise Technology at BC Transit, a position they assumed in 2020.
Mumit Khan holds a PhD in Software Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the same university from 1988 to 1991. Mumit also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they earned from 1985 to 1988. Before their university education, Mumit completed their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) at St. Joseph High School in Dhaka from 1974 to 1982.
