Phil Thornton-Joe has extensive experience in the transit industry, having served as a Safety and Training Officer at BC Transit since May 1996, where responsibilities included training bus operators and developing training resources. Prior to this role, Phil operated buses in Greater Victoria and held the position of Fitness Manager at various centers in British Columbia from 1984 to 1996. Phil also contributed as a former Event Co-Chair for the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay from 2004 to 2007. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in directed Studies in Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Performance, both from the University of Victoria. Currently, Phil is enjoying life post-retirement since June 2019.
