Svea Ovans

Svea Ovans is a seasoned research professional with extensive experience in leading research initiatives and providing actionable insights across various sectors. Currently serving as Manager of Research & Insights at BCLC since January 2021, Svea oversees the research function, manages an annual budget, and consults with business stakeholders to translate their needs into strategic research directions. Prior roles include Senior Specialist at BCLC, Research Analyst at the Office of the Chief Judge - Provincial Court of BC, Research Manager and Research Assistant at NRG Research Group, and Family Development Staff at YMCA Canada. Svea began academic pursuits at the University of Victoria, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and has honed skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and analytical reporting throughout a diverse career.
