Verena Monnier has served as the Responsable des archives musicales at BCU Lausanne since December 2010, overseeing a vast collection that documents musical creation and activity in the canton of Vaud and the wider Swiss Romande from the mid-19th century to the present, while ensuring adherence to internationally recognized conservation standards. Prior experience includes roles as a bibliothécaire at the Bibliothèque de la Ville de Bienne, where responsibilities included managing classical music and jazz literature as well as cultural events, and serving as an organist at the Temples of La Sarraz and Bussigny. Verena Monnier is academically credentialed with a Master of Arts in advanced piano studies and sacred music from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Bayreuth/Würzburg, a Licence ès lettres in musicology, ethnology, and Portuguese from Université de Fribourg-en-Brisgau, and a translation diploma from the Universidade de Lisboa. Additional training includes a certificate in music information management from Stuttgart Media University and attendance at the Edirom Summerschool Paderborn.
