David Bertucci has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. David started their career at Seemann Composites as an engineer, where they prepared documentation, managed projects, and performed tool and part geometry verification. David then worked at Stanford University as a graduate student before moving on to Scaled Composites as a project engineer, where they were responsible for schedule and delivery of aerospace systems. After that, they joined X, the moonshot factory as a mechanical engineer, working on the commercialization of airborne wind turbines. In 2018, they started their own company, Delta Bravo Design, where they focused on bringing products to market in the aerospace, marine, and robotics industries. Currently, they are employed as a Senior Systems Engineer at Bear Flag Robotics, where they design and fabricates electronic enclosures, PCBAs, and wiring harnesses for autonomous agricultural equipment.
David Bertucci has a solid education background in Mechanical Engineering. David obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Following their undergraduate studies, David pursued further education and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, attending from 2008 to 2009.
In addition to their formal education, David has also obtained certifications in aviation. In July 2008, they became a certified Private Pilot for Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL) through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Later, in October 2019, they obtained the Remote Pilot - sUAS certification from the FAA, which allows him to operate small unmanned aircraft systems.
