Salma El-Shami has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. In 2016, they worked as a Workshop Instructor and Professional Speaker for YouTube, where they curated talks and workshops for content creators. In 2017, they were a Guest Speaker at Alfaisal University, delivering a motivational speech on career-focused topics. From 2016 to 2018, Salma served as the Creative Director at Added Values Co., leading the development team for the Mobily service app "Haq'aha," producing the "Nirvana" life coaching YouTube channel, and launching the company's new brand identity. Salma also worked as a Film Director for Lights, Camera, Learn in 2018. Salma then joined Syrup Global LLC as an Event Manager in 2018, where they oversaw technical and production teams for the "Lets Jam" event. In 2019, Salma worked with Google as a Mentor/Video Director for the NextUp boot camp, providing support, directing and editing highlight reels, and leading content creators in a production challenge. Salma also worked as a Freelance Photographer starting in 2019. In 2020, Salma took on the role of Jr. Creative Producer at Jumpseat Filmproduktion GmbH & Co. KG, managing internal and external communications, coordinating projects, and developing pitches. Salma also worked as a Project Manager at UY Studio, where they handled project coordination, budget planning and monitoring, created concepts for campaigns and social media content, and served as the production manager for video productions. Currently, Salma is working as a Project Manager at Beazy.

Salma El-Shami completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mass Communication: Journalism from the American University of Sharjah from 2010 to 2014. In 2016, they obtained a Certificate in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy. Salma also holds a High School Diploma from Najd National Schools. Additionally, they have received several certifications, including "Film Financing in an Entrepreneurial Age by Paul Miller" from Fest Film Lab in 2018, "4-Week Filmmaking" from the New York Film Academy in July 2016, and "Digital Marketing" from EduPristine in February 2016.
