Amir Lotfi has a diverse work experience spanning from 2001 to 2020. Amir started their career at Neyestan Rayaneh Co. where they worked on the computer assembly line from May 2001 to August 2002. Amir then worked as a Research Assistant at The George Washington University from August 2007 to June 2009. Following that, they served as a Research Associate at Howard University from January 2010 to July 2010. Subsequently, they joined the University of Gothenburg as a Research Associate from November 2011 to July 2012. Amir further pursued a PhD at the same institution where they worked as a PhD Researcher from November 2013 to November 2017. Moving forward, they joined Canopy Growth Corporation (Beckley Canopy Therapeutics) as a Clinical Research Scientist from March 2019 to May 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Research and Development Scientist at Beckley Psytech, starting from May 2020.

Amir Lotfi obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Kharazmi University, graduating in 2006. Amir then pursued further education at The George Washington University, completing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology between 2007 and 2009. Later, Amir Lotfi enrolled at the University of Gothenburg, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Neuroscience, finishing their studies in 2018.
