Austin McKinnon

Austin Mckinnon is a Principal Engineer and VAD Architect at BD, with extensive experience in leading technical programs in diagnostic systems, firmware, and manufacturing. Notable achievements include oversight of the BD HD Check system, the first rapid detection test for hazardous drugs on surfaces. Mckinnon has also contributed to various roles at BD, focusing on technology development, concept management, and product development for multiple projects, such as the BD Intelliport Syringe Labeler and BD Nexiva Diffusics IV Catheter. Additionally, Mckinnon serves as a Technical Expert for ISO Technical Committee 84, participating in the establishment of standards for medicinal product administration. Prior experience includes mechanical engineering at Hewlett Packard, specializing in office color laser printer development. Mckinnon holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
