Matthew D'Archambaud

Matthew D'Archambaud has extensive work experience in the field of transportation and engineering. Matthew has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

From 2020, Matthew has been working at Bedford Borough Council as the Chief Officer - Highways, Transport, and Engineering. In this position, they are responsible for managing a large team and overseeing budgets for engineering services, passenger transport, sustainable travel, asset management, traffic operations, and the council fleet. Matthew also serves as the Project Sponsor for a significant town deal project.

Prior to this, Matthew worked at Atkins as the Client Director from 2018 to 2020. Matthew was responsible for the company's highways and transportation frameworks in the East of England and London. Matthew also served as the Project Director for the Integrated Delivery Team for Oxfordshire County Council and the Bid Director for the successful Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Joint Professional Services Framework pursuit.

From 2015 to 2018, Matthew worked at AECOM as the Regional Director for the Traffic and Local Roads team. Matthew led a team that provided design, traffic modeling, and project delivery services for local authorities and contractors.

Before that, Matthew was an Associate at WSP Group from 2013 to 2014. Matthew worked in the Public Sector Transport Planning team and was involved in projects such as the Birmingham City Centre Transport Masterplan and the assessment exercise for transport infrastructure options for the Stanton Cross development.

Matthew started their career at Amey in 2007, where they held the positions of Principal Project Manager and Principal Transport Planner. Matthew was responsible for delivering Intelligent Transport Systems schemes and managing major projects for clients such as Birmingham City Council and Portsmouth City Council.

Before joining Amey, Matthew worked at MOUCHEL plc. as a Project Manager and at Milton Keynes Council as a Passenger Transport Officer. In these roles, they managed transportation schemes and projects focused on creating sustainable transport models.

Matthew D'Archambaud attended De Montfort University from 1998 to 2001 and earned an Upper Second Class Degree (2:1) BA (Hons) in Human Geography.
