Brian Gilger

Brian Gilger is a world-renowned Professor of Ophthalmology at NC State University. He received his veterinary degree from the Ohio State University and did a combined ophthalmology residency and master’s degree from Auburn University. He is board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology and by the American Board of Toxicology. He was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017, was awarded the Huffmann Leadership Award by North Carolina State University and the AVMA Clinical Research Award in 2018. Dr. Gilger’s research has focused on innovative ocular therapeutics, immune-mediated ocular diseases, and wound healing. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, over 30 book chapters, and is the editor of six textbooks, including the 2018 publication, Standards in Ocular Toxicology and Inflammation.
