Peter Richter has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and engineering. Peter started their career at GlobalEnglish Corporation in 1998 as a Senior Engineer, where they worked on the front end development of an e-learning application for English as a Second Language. Peter used technologies like Javascript, Flex, Flash, Ajax, CSS, and SQL. Peter worked at GlobalEnglish Corporation for over 11 years.

In 2010, Peter joined BreakoutBand as a Senior Flex Developer and stayed there for a year.

Then, they moved on to VMware in 2011, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer. At VMware, Peter developed cloud-based Saas products and worked on the SlideRocket and SocialCast web applications. Their work involved heavy use of object-oriented JavaScript.

In 2012, Peter joined Pearson Education as a Lead Software Developer. In this role, they created an educational application for students in a classroom environment. Peter utilized JavaScript and the Sencha framework, wrapped in an Objective-C shell, to communicate with a Java backend. Peter also ported the application to a Xamarin version, coding in C#. Most recently, Peter has been working at BEGiN since 2016 as an Engineering Manager, Web. Peter's responsibility includes front-end architecture for educational software, along with creating engaging and interactive experiences for young users.

Peter Richter pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan from 1984 to 1988, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Later, from 1993 to 1995, they attended Simmons University and obtained a Masters in the Art of Teaching with a focus on Mathematics Education.
