Job description

BEI Construction is seeking a Project Manager for our Security division.  As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of security system installation projects. Additionally, you will ensure projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements.  This role will report to the General Manager of the division with frequent travel to jobsites located throughout the Bay Area. 

Responsibilities & Duties

·         Responsible for coordinating all activities associated with the timely, accurate, and on-budget completion of the project, according to      established project management procedures

·         Participate in and/or facilitate the bid process and lead project kickoff meetings

·         Manage workload distribution and monitor customer delivery and installation progress

·         Responsible for effective and timely communication with customers, including change orders, deliveries, on-site visits, etc.

·         Engage purchasing staff for purchases and/or equipment

·         Plan for, manage, monitor, and maintain project profitability

·         Review project status weekly to identify problem areas and spearhead resolutions

·         Raise awareness to management regarding potential claims, back charges, or large costs that will affect BEI financially on assigned projects

·         Ensure that any scope, schedule, cost, or change of terms are handled in accordance to stated change order procedures

·         Attend team meetings of all projects, statuses, and utilization

·         Prepare project reports as requested

·         Keep accurate files and records of project status and activities

·         Reviews all job cost postings for accuracy and completeness, including but not limited to, the preparation of invoices, customer collections and periodic financial reporting to the customer and management

·         Travel as needed to jobsites

·         Manage all related quality and safety issues on customer work

·         Other duties as required or assigned

Education and/or Experience:

·         Experience as a Project Manager in the Security industries is required

·         Minimum 3-5 years’ experience related industry is preferred

·         Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

·         Valid CA Driver License and MVR that meets BEI driving standards

·         Ability to interpret construction and technical documents

·         Understand security system functionality and installation processes and techniques

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
