Augustine Chew

Augustine Chew has extensive experience in risk and compliance management. Augustine has held various roles in different companies, starting with their current position as Compliance Lead APAC at BeiGene. In this role, they support the implementation of healthcare compliance programs and assesses the potential impact of initiatives on the program.

Prior to joining BeiGene, Augustine was the Group Head of Risk and Compliance at Regal Springs Tilapia, where they oversaw risk management and compliance measures. Augustine also worked at Arthrex as a Regional Compliance Manager and Global Audit Manager, focusing on implementing governance frameworks and maintaining internal controls.

Before that, Augustine worked at GSK as an Audit Manager and at Covidien as a Forensic Audit Manager and Auditor. At GSK, they performed audit engagements and assessed risks, while at Covidien, they conducted fraud investigations and managed audit assignments.

Augustine also has experience as a Regional Audit Consultant at AstraZeneca, where they performed operational audits and reviewed processes for ethical business practices. Augustine started their career at KPMG Singapore as a Staff/Senior Auditor, conducting assurance audits and financial statement audits.

Augustine Chew holds a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, which they obtained from 2002 to 2005. Augustine also pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) in Law from the University of South Wales, completing it from 2018 to 2021. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications including Leadership Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC) from the Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI) in 2015, Certified Internal Auditor from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in 2010, CPA Singapore from the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) in 2009, and Certified Fraud Examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
