Wassim Aldairy

Wassim Aldairy has a strong background in pharmacovigilance and safety science. Wassim is currently working as the VP and Head of Safety Science & Epidemiology at BeiGene since 2023. Previously, Wassim held the position of Vice President of Pharmacovigilance at Mersana Therapeutics from 2021 to 2023. Before that, they were the Head of Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Safety at Cerevel Therapeutics, LLC from 2019 to 2021. Wassim also worked as a Global Safety Lead and Senior Director at Takeda from 2017 to 2019 and as the Head of Safety and Senior Director at Agios Pharmaceuticals from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they held various roles at Genentech, including Associate Head of Safety Science Oncology, Senior Safety Science Leader, and Safety Science Leader from 2011 to 2015. Wassim's career in the pharmaceutical industry started at Abbott Laboratories, where they served as the Deputy QPPV and Associate Director, ensuring compliance with European legislation and providing medical review and input for safety reports. Wassim began their professional career as a Medical Doctor in the NHS from 2001 to 2007.

Wassim Aldairy attended Damascus University from 1992 to 1998, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. In 2005, they enrolled at the Royal College of Physicians (UK) to pursue a specialization in Internal Medicine. Wassim obtained their MRCP (UK) degree in this field of study.
