Kenan Begovic

Kenan Begovic has almost 25 years of experience in the field of information security. Kenan is currently working as the Group Director of Information Security at beIN MEDIA GROUP since March 2017. Prior to this, they co-founded G.R.O.U.P40 in 2015. Before that, from 2013 to 2015, they were the Information Security & GRC Senior Manager at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, where they established and managed information security and IT GRC functions. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as a Senior Manager of Information Security at Al Hilal Bank. Kenan also served as the Deputy Head of Information Security & Risk Management at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank in 2007 and as the ITO Security Operations Team Leader at Injazat Data Systems from 2006 to 2007. Prior to that, they held various roles such as IT Security Officer at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Data Security Administrator at Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority, IT Security specialist at the Office of the High Representative, and LAN Administrator at the United Nations.

Kenan Begovic earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from the University of Liverpool in the years 2013 to 2016. Kenan then pursued a PhD in the same field at Qatar University from 2020 to 2023. Additionally, they attained several certifications including the ISO 22301:2012 Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) Lead Auditor from BSI in 2013, the ISMS Lead Auditor ISO27001:2005 from TÜV SüD South Asia in 2009, and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2005.
