Mathias Wambeke

Mathias Wambeke, FRM, currently serves as the Head of Risk Monitoring at Belfius Insurance since September 2017, overseeing a team focused on life, non-life, investment, and ALM domains, with significant involvement in Solvency II-related work. Prior to this role, Mathias worked as an Advisor in Risk & Finance at Assuralia from September 2014 to September 2017, representing the Belgian insurance sector on matters including Solvency II and infrastructure finance. Mathias also gained experience as a Research Associate at Vlerick Business School, concentrating on accounting, finance, and infrastructure investments. Early career roles included positions in data document management at UBS Wealth Management. Academic achievements include a Master of Financial and Actuarial Engineering and a Master's in Insurance from KU Leuven, as well as a Master's in Business Engineering - Finance from Ghent University and a Master's in Finance from ISC Paris.
