Frank Monteny

Director General Research and Space at Belgian Science Policy Office

Frank Monteny serves as the Director General of Research and Space at the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) since August 2009, overseeing the design and implementation of the agency's non-industrial research programmes. Prior positions include coordinating European research projects at IWT from May 2004 to July 2009 and serving as Deputy Head of the Research Programme Department at BELSPO from July 1996 to May 2004. Earlier experience includes project management at ERM nv and research at Vrije Universiteit Brussel focused on trace metals in environmental contexts. Frank Monteny holds a Master's degree in Bio-engineering from Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
